Mr. Willie Mack Thomas Sr., was born on the Saturday of August 12, 1961, to the union of Mr. Morn and Mrs. Edith Thomas in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. Both of whom have preceded him in death.
Mackie was the baby boy and the sixth born of his siblings. His sister Joyce M. Reed, also preceded him in death in 2015.
Willie was educated in the St. Louis public school system. He confessed his faith and hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized in the faith at West End Mt. Carmel under the leadership of Rev. Arthur Mitchell.
Willie had multiple jobs throughout his life, and he lived much of his adult life in Denver, Colorado with his father and brother Desmond. He built a life and family with the love of his life and partner, Ms. Lillie Woods and to this bond four children were born, his eldest son and namesake, Willie M. Thomas Jr. sadly preceded him in death in 2002.
Willie loved all his family, especially his grand-children very passionately. He was very protective of his sisters and mother. He was known in the neighborhood as “Mr. Willie”, because he often bought treats and school supplies for all the kids in the neighborhood on several occasions.
Willie peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal life, on Monday, October 24, 2022. He passed away in his sleep. Proverbs 3:24, “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.”
Mackie was funny and loved to laugh. He was known to “jone” on you and have a comeback line if need be. His heart was genuine and he loved to give and help others. He was a gentle giant and if he gave you a nickname, you still answered to it today lol.
