Violet Turner was born on October 18, 1935, to her loving parents, Bennie Turner Sr. and Annie Sue Turner Vaulx. She was a welcome addition to her affectionate family. The Turner family worshiped at St. John M.B. Church in Stanton, Tennessee. Violet attended Douglass Jr. High School in Tennessee before moving to St. Louis, Missouri, where she graduated from Vashon High School in June 1952.
Violet married the love of her life, William Garven Braddock, and to this union, two beautiful children were born—a daughter, Sheree Lane Braddock, and a son, Stephen Eric Braddock.
She later relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where she became a devoted member of Monumental Baptist Church. She cherished worshiping and fellowshipping there. Eventually, Violet returned to St. Louis, where she united with Greater Progressive Baptist Church and Lighthouse Christian Ministries while residing at Hillside Manor Nursing Home.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her fourteen siblings, her husband, and her son. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Sheree Lane Braddock, and her granddaughter, Shelia Braddock. In addition, a host of family and friends who loved her and enjoyed her humor and laughter will miss her dearly.
